Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026 · DRAFT (review with counsel)

1. Introduction

ReadyPixl ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our browser-based image editing tool at readypixl.com.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Images You Process

Standard tools process images entirely in your browser. For features like Color Removal, Resize, and Reposition, your images never leave your device.

2.2 Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage data including: pages visited, time spent on the site, browser type, device type, and general geographic region.

2.3 Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to save your preferences. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

The limited information we collect is used to improve our website and tools, analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience.

4. Browser Extension

The ReadyPixl browser extension processes images entirely on your device. No images are uploaded to our servers during standard processing.

What the extension stores locally. The extension uses your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage.local) to save: (a) authentication tokens for your ReadyPixl account so you remain signed in, (b) user preferences such as export settings, plugin presets, and the configured webapp target, and (c) UI state such as whether the sidebar was open in a given tab. This data remains on your device.

Images you select. When you choose images from a webpage or your device through the sidebar, the extension reads only the specific images you select. Image data is processed locally; only when you explicitly use a feature that requires the ReadyPixl webapp (e.g., uploading to your library) is image data transmitted to our servers.

Host permissions. The extension requests access to all websites so you can use it on any page you choose. It does not scan, monitor, transmit, or store browsing history, page content, or any data from pages other than the images you explicitly select.

Limited Use of user data. ReadyPixl's use and transfer of information received from the extension to any other app will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell or transfer user data collected by the extension to third parties; we do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose; and we do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

5. Desktop Application

ReadyPixl Desktop is a paid downloadable application. Some additional collection applies because the desktop app needs to validate your license and stay reliable in the wild.

5.1 Account and license validation

To start the 7-day free trial or to use a paid license, you must sign in with a ReadyPixl account (authentication through Supabase). The desktop app checks your entitlement on launch and when the window regains focus, sending only your access token; the server responds with your trial / paid status. We cache the result locally for up to 7 days so the app keeps working when you are offline.

5.2 Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers. We receive only the information Stripe needs to issue a receipt and link the purchase to your account (Stripe customer ID, payment intent ID, country for tax). See Stripe's privacy policy for details about their processing.

5.3 Crash reporting

The desktop app sends crash and error reports to Sentry to help us fix bugs. Reports include the app version, OS / architecture, the stack trace, and breadcrumbs of recent actions. We scrub file paths under your home directory before send. You can disable crash reporting in Settings → Privacy.

5.4 Usage telemetry

The desktop app sends anonymous usage events to PostHog (the same product analytics we use on the website) so we can see which features get used and where users get stuck. Typical events include app launch, plugin run, export complete, update installed, and trial / purchase milestones. No image content is ever sent. You can disable usage telemetry in Settings → Privacy.

5.5 Models and assets

The desktop installer is intentionally small; AI upscaler models and shared design assets are downloaded on first use from Cloudflare R2 and cached locally on your machine. Those downloads do not include any personally identifying information about you.

5.6 Updates

The desktop app checks for software updates against a public update manifest hosted on Cloudflare R2. The check is a simple HTTPS request; no personal data is sent. Security updates always install regardless of your update window.

5.7 No refunds

The 7-day no-credit-card trial is the evaluation period. Purchases are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. See the End User License Agreement shipped with the desktop app and the Terms of Service for details.

6. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share user data collected via the ReadyPixl website or browser extension with third parties, except as strictly required by law or as necessary to provide the service you have requested (e.g., our authentication provider for signing you into your account).
